It is important at first identify the system integration or level of work allotted to the employees in the organization. We are here to analyse about horizontal integration and vertical integration.

Let’s just take some examples here about the small restaurant, where employees are

1. Bartender

2. Servers

3. Dish Washer

4. Chef

5. Assistant Chef

6. Assistant Chef

7. Kitchen Manager

8. Dinning Manager

9. Restaurant manager

10. Owner

Here what we will see the how we can differentiate the work balance in the restaurant. Lets see through the virtual representation.

So looking Into the current situation what we see that from owner towards downstream. Bartender, Server, Chef and assistant chefs are drawing a line of horizontal structure, where as if see that they are working under the kitchen manager and dinning manager who are also working under the supervision of the restaurant manager this integration of system is called the vertical integration. And restaurant manager is responsible for the answers about the restaurant operations to the owner of the restaurant, which also would be vertical integration
